Taijiquan Lessons in West CorkMark Sifu teaches an old Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan and several Chi Gong meditations. There is a lot of accent placed on self healing exercise. Students who wish to develop their practice and knowledge of Tai Chi will have tuition in Push Hands (Tui So), (wooden) Sword and Broadsword (a.k.a. Scimitar) styles. Its important to explain to him any relevant background i.e. sore back, recovering from an accident etc.
Most of the lesson comprises of warmups and exercises that help the student to learn and practise circulating the blood, breath and therefore their CHI. The general order is: Warmups loosening up and light streches. Followed by Chi Gong practises that change with the seasons or by special request than we work on the (Tai Chi) form. The advanced students will then go on to practise Tui So or Sabre.
Students should wear loose clothing, bring an extra top and Tai Chi, Martial Arts or any soft soled footwear, bring water. Courses and Lessons |
